Governor NYESOM WIKE held a preparatory meeting in the Spanish city yesterday with officials of Interact Sports and Real Madrid Campus Experience on the project.
After the meeting; Governor WIKE and members of his entourage, including the Commissioner of Sports, BOMA IYAYI, would take a tour of Real Madrid Training facilities today.
According to a statement from the Government House, Governor WIKE said the proposed football academy is in the interest of Rivers State and for the purpose of grooming the next generation of football stars.
Other members of Governor WIKE’s delegation to Madrid include the House of Assembly Majority Whip, EVANS BIPI; former Nigerian international, ADOKIYE AMIESIMAKA, and a member of Rivers State Senior Secondary School Board, Chief HANNY WOKO.
