The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. His resignation from the PDP was contained in a letter dated Monday, 5th January 2026, which he submitted through his ward in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State. Following his exit from the PDP, Anabraba proceeded to register officially with the APC, a move seen as a significant political development in the state.
