Rivers Sole Administrator Calls for Community-Driven Development Approach

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas, has advocated for a strategic, community-driven approach to socio-economic development in Nigeria.

He made the call on Tuesday while receiving the Executive Secretary of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), Dr. George Kelly, and his team at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Vice Admiral Ete-Ibas stressed the need for adequate consultation with local communities before initiating development projects, questioning the effectiveness of interventions that do not reflect the actual needs of the people.

In his remarks, Dr. George Kelly disclosed that several projects have been earmarked for execution in Rivers State, explaining that these projects were carefully selected based on a nationwide needs assessment focused on border communities.
