The Rivers State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with Monday’s attack on personnel of Tonninno Filling Station, located on Elioparanwo Road.
The arrests followed directives from the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, for the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) to take over the investigation, ensure the swift apprehension of the perpetrators, and recover the stolen firearms.
The Command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe Koko, stated that preliminary investigations indicate the suspects have been involved in multiple criminal activities across the state. She added that the suspects, along with the recovered rifles, are currently in police custody and are cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
CP Adepoju commended the professionalism and diligence of the operatives for their swift action in arresting the suspects and recovering the stolen weapons.
