Rivers Governor Fubara Calls for Stakeholder Collaboration to Boost Security in South-South

Rivers State Governor, SIM Fubara, has urged stakeholders in the South-South geo-political zone to collaborate in order to promote lasting peace and security in the region.

Governor Fubara made the call on Thursday during the South-South Zonal Public Hearing on National Security, organized by the Senate Ad-Hoc Committee on the National Security Summit, held in Port Harcourt. He was represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba, who quoted the Governor as saying, “Security is not the business of government alone, but a shared responsibility and concern of every person.”

Earlier, Senate Minority Leader and Chairman of the South-South Security Summit, Senator Abba Moro, explained that the summit is a deliberate effort to diagnose, understand, and collectively address the multifaceted security challenges confronting the country.

The summit brought together key political leaders, traditional rulers, security agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to brainstorm strategies and lasting solutions to insecurity in the South-South region.
