The Rivers State Flood Prevention and Management Committee on Thursday distributed edible and non-edible relief materials to flood victims in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, continuing its efforts to support communities affected by flooding across the state.
During the exercise, the state Deputy Governor and Chairperson of the committee, Prof. Ngozi Odu, appealed for a fair and transparent distribution of the items. She was represented by the Head of Service, Dr. Inyingi Brown.
Responding on behalf of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Chairman, ALLWELL IHUNDA, the Director of Procurement, Eze Ndah, expressed gratitude to the state government and assured that the materials would be delivered to the intended beneficiaries.
Items distributed included mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, cooking materials, noodles, and clothing, among others.
