As peace talks continue to address the political rift in Rivers State, the Rivers Elders and Leadership Forum has called on all stakeholders to support the reconciliation process.
Chairman of the Forum, Rufus Ada George, made the appeal during a visit from the Simplified Rivers Elders Forum in Port Harcourt. He emphasized the importance of peace and unity for the state’s development, stating that “peace and unity are necessary in advancing development in Rivers State.”
Earlier, Ikay Amadi, Convener of the Simplified Rivers Elders Forum, explained that the visit was aimed at fostering understanding and collaboration among the elders amidst the ongoing peace efforts involving the suspended governor and his predecessor.
In his remarks, Atuboyedia Obianeme, spokesperson for the Simplified Rivers Elders Forum, commended Rufus Ada George for his leadership in pioneering peace initiatives in the state. The elders expressed optimism that continued dialogue and support will help foster lasting stability and progress in Rivers.
