Rivers Amnesty: RSHA pledged commitment to welfare of repentant cultists from Ogoni.

Chairman of the House Committee on Security, SMART ADOKI gave the assurance when he led members of his committee to a peace meeting with the youths in Eleme and Khana local government areas. 

 

 

ADOKI promised that the committee would forward a request to Governor NYESOM WIKE to provide surveillance jobs for the youths to enable them take care of their welfare.

 

 

The state lawmaker further challenged the youths to make something meaningful out of their lives, instead of resorting to crime. 

 

 

Our Correspondent reports that some of the youths who spoke during the meeting pledged to work for the peace of Ogoni land.

 

 

Other respondents blamed the spread of violence in the area on unemployment among youths, and called for concerted efforts by the state and federal governments in addressing the challenge.
