RIMA Disburses ₦2.346bn to 3,000 Beneficiaries Since 2024

The Rivers State Microfinance Agency (RIMA) has disbursed a total of ₦2.346 billion to about 3,000 beneficiaries since the inception of its loan scheme in 2024.

The scheme was launched by Governor Siminalayi Fubara to support small and medium-scale enterprises across Rivers State.

The Managing Director of RIMA, Pastor Tobin Jonathan, disclosed this while presenting the agency’s 2025 scorecard. He explained that the first tranche of ₦1 billion was disbursed to 1,675 beneficiaries.

Pastor Jonathan commended beneficiaries who have voluntarily repaid their loans, noting that the agency has so far recovered over ₦900 million.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his continued support, which he said has enabled the agency to reach small business operators across the state.

The RIMA Managing Director, however, appealed to the governor to approve additional funding to enable the agency expand its operations and extend financial support to more entrepreneurs.
