The House of Representatives has called on the Federal Government to stop the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, from introducing Computer-Based Testing (CBT) for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Lawmakers warned that the proposed shift to CBT could lead to widespread academic failure, psychological stress, and even potential fatalities among students who may struggle to cope with the sudden transition.
