Rejection of Amendment of National Port Authority act sparks protest in Maritime.

The union members disrupted operations of 

the NPA office at Port Harbour, as well as 

the NPA office at Onne, in Eleme Local 

Government Area of Rivers State.

understands that the planned amendment of 

NPA Act of 1995 intends to facilitate the 

concession of harbour operations of the 

Nigerian Ports Authority.


However; members of the Maritime Workers 

Union of Nigeria are kicking against the 

planned concession due to fear that it 

would endanger their welfare.
