According to reports citing a statement from the Ministry of Environment; the Governing Council is made up of thirteen members, while the Board of Trustees has ten members.
However; the statement reportedly signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Doctor BUKAR HASSAN, on behalf of the Minister, AMINA MOHAMMED, did not reveal the names of the individuals that make up the two key organs.
In the meantime; one of the facilitators of the Ogoni cleanup project, Senator MAGNUS ABE has said that with the approval of the two organs comes as a fulfillment of a crucial stage of the UNEP Report implementation.
In a statement released by his spokesman, PARRY SAROH-BENSON, Senator ABE commended President MUHAMMADU BUHARI for his sincerity and commitment to the project.
He said President BUHARI has been able to prove skeptics wrong through his actions on the process of the implementation of the Ogoni cleanup exercise.
