The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Rivers State has called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to sack non-performing appointees or step aside if he is unable to assert his authority.
Speaking in an interview, the State Chairman of the party, Nature Dumale Kieghe, said it is becoming increasingly clear that many government appointments are based more on political loyalty than competence.
Kieghe cited the growing heaps of refuse in several parts of Rivers State as evidence of weak supervision, noting that despite appointing officials to manage relevant agencies, the government has failed to hold them accountable for poor performance.
The PRP Chairman also raised concerns over the activities of touts, popularly known as Agberos, operating across the state, warning that their actions are taking a serious toll on business owners, especially taxi drivers.
