President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has charged the new service chiefs to gear up for the challenge to put an end to the Boko Haram insurgency within the next three months.

President BUHARI gave the charge during the formal inauguration of the service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The President equally charged them to come up with ways to tackle armed robbery and militancy, reminding them that their appointment was based on merit. He said based on their pedigree as first class senior officers, he had no doubt the service chiefs can handle the task of leading their respective organizations.

The inauguration is coming two months after the appointment of the service chiefs and the National Security Adviser on the 13th of July.

They include Major-General ABAYOMI GABRIEL OLONISAKIN as Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General T.Y. BURATAI as Chief of Army Staff; and Rear Admiral IBOK-ETE EKWE IBAS as Chief of Naval Staff.

Others are Air Vice-Marshal SADIQUE ABUBAKAR as Chief of Air Staff; Air Vice Marshal MONDAY RIKU MORGAN and Chief of Defence Intelligence, as retired Major-General BABAGANA MONGUNO as National Security Adviser.
