President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has called for the support of the Organization of Islamic Countries in ongoing efforts by the Nigerian government to resettle internally displaced persons because of the Boko Haram insurgency in the north.Speaking at a meeting in Mecca with the Secretary General of OIC, IYAD AMEEN MADANI; President BUHARI urged the organisation to send a fact-finding mission to the ravaged states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa to see the damage done by terrorists.President BUHARI is of the view that the fact-finding visit will help OIC to determine the scope of assistance it can offer to Nigeria for the rehabilitation and resettlement of internally displaced persons. He also wants the organisation to act urgently in support of the restoration of peace, law and order to Libya which, he said had been breeding the terrorists that are causing mayhem in West and Central African countries. The Nigerian leader agreed with IOC scribe that Islam had been willfully misrepresented by terrorists, stressing that it was only through proper education of the people about Islam that terrorists will be deprived of legitimacy and a basis for the recruitment of followers.
