The national orientation campaign is the brainchild of the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji LAI MOHAMMED.
It is styled after the “Great People; Great Nation” campaign initiated by former Information and Communications Minister, Late Professor DORA AKUNYILI.
However; some critics are of the view that the “Change Begin With Me” campaign is more of a modification of the “War Against Indiscipline” campaign of the past military regime in the nineteen-eighties headed by Nigeria’s current civilian president.
The Change Begin With Me campaign is intended to drive a holistic change of attitude by Nigerians, and the restoration of a credible value system, as well as to encourage patriotism.
It is an extension of the Change slogan based on which the All Progressives Congress rode to victory in the 2015 general election.
Speaking at the launch ceremony in Abuja; President BUHARI charged all Nigerians to embrace attitudinal change both in our public and private life.
BUAHRI said Nigerians must drop the old ways of doing things, and also shun reckless behaviour.
