A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, FEMI ADESINA indicates that the move is in compliance with provisions in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Act of 1997, as amended.
The statement disclosed that the Minister of State for Petroleum; IBE KACHIKWU is the Chairman of the NNPC Board, while MAIKANTI KACALLA BARU is the Group Managing Director of the corporation.
The Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Finance is also a member of the board, as well as MALLAM ABBA KYARI, THOMAS JOHN, PIUS AKINYELURE, TAJUDDEEN UMAR, Mallam MOHAMMED LAWAL and
