Traders in Port Harcourt have called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to introduce quick-impact economic policies that will restore circulation of money and boost business activities.
They lamented that their businesses suffered low patronage during the emergency rule, noting that civil servants, who make up a large portion of their customer base, were unable to spend as they used to in the past six months.
The traders also expressed concern over multiple taxation in markets across Port Harcourt and Obio-Akpor. They appealed to the governor to unify the tax system in the markets and protect them from what they described as unnecessary harassment by task force officials.
