The former State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party as well as National Chairman – South of the party died of an undisclosed ailment last week at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
Rivers APC chieftain and Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, DAKUKU PETERSIDE is among the latest callers at the Port Harcourt home of the bereaved family.
In his remarks; after consoling the widow of Chief G.U. AKE, PETERSIDE said he would be remembered as a politician that worked for the unity of Rivers State.

Former House of Representatives member and APC senatorial candidate, Chief ANDREW UCHENDU was also a guest at the home of late Chief G.U. AKE.
Chief UCHENDU was also joined by a former Commissioner for Transport, GLORY EMEH on the condolence visit to bereaved family in Port Harcourt.
He said Rivers State lost a strong political voice through the death of Chief G.U AKE, just as he underscored his contributions to the development of the state.

In her responses, the wife of the late politician, CHRISTIANA AKE said she was encouraged by the show of love for her departed husband by well-wishers.
