This is by way of an order for SARS to vacate the facility it is presently occupying within the premises of the Obio-Akpor International Market near Rukpokwu, which serves as its headquarters.
The quit notice to SARS indicates that the police formation has until 30th November to move out of the Obio-Akpor International Market, which belongs to Obio-Akpor Local Government council.
A copy of the letter seen by our correspondent was signed by VICTOR OWHONDA-WOKEM for the Legal Adviser to Obio-Akpor Local Government council and addressed to SARS Commander, AKIN FAKOREDE.
According to the letter; the Obio-Akpor council authorities want to take possession of the SARS office in a bid to carry out renovation work in preparation for the use of the facility for its original purpose.
The letter was also copied to Governor NYESOM WIKE, the Inspector General of Police, IBRAHIM IDRIS, and the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, ZAKI AHMED.
