The rescue of the kidnapped victims was made on the express order of the Acting Inspector-General of Police, IBRAHIM IDRIS.
Force Public Relations Officer, DCP DON AWUNAH who confirmed the development in a statement to newsmen, IGP IDRIS ordered the deployment of a detachment of Counter Terrorism Unit to the area for the safe rescue of the victims.
The Force Headquarters also commended the bravery of some good spirited members of Ayobo community who mobilized and went after the kidnappers.
The statement acknowledged that the community collaboration with the Nigeria Police ensured that the hoodlums were traced to Igando waterfront where the victims were abandoned by the fleeing kidnappers.
