The Chairman of the Port Harcourt Unit of IPMAN, EMMANUEL INIMGBA wants the new management of the NNPC to intensify effort in completing the repairs as soon as possible.

INIMGBA called for help in the downstream sector of oil industry stressing that a country like Nigeria should not be experiencing scarcity of petroleum products.

It will interest you to know that despite multi-billion-naira expenditure on rehabilitation or turn-around maintenance of the country’s four refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna since 1999, they have never worked to optimum capacity.

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, MELE KYARI, has however announced that the full rehabilitation of the four refineries will commence in January next year.

KYARI, who made the announcement while unfolding the schedule for the refineries during a tour of the Port-Harcourt Refining and Petrochemical Company, PHRC, said the corporation is determined to ensure the refineries achieve optimum refining capacity by 2022.
