Ozekhome to EFCC: Fayose paid me N75m.

This is because the EFCC secured a court order freezing seventy-five million naira in the bank account of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

The expert order was granted by Justice ABDULAZEEZ ANKA of the Federal High Court in Lagos based on claims by EFCC that the money was proceeds of crime.

But in his reaction, Chief OZEKHOME said the money was part payment for professional services he rendered to Ekitit State Governor, AYODELE FAYOSE.

In a statement circulated to some media houses, OZEKHOME said it was with rude shock and personal sense of consternation that his attention was drawn to online publications and numerous calls from Nigerians about the freezing of his bank account.

OZEKHOME maintained that he was a practising lawyer and not a government employee, contractor or a business man.

He also declared his resolve to take legal steps to defreeze the account, if the EFCC does not immediately voluntarily vacate the order.
