The Court issued an order restraining the Abia State Chief Judge or any other Judge from swearing in SAMSON UCHE OGAH as Governor.
The order was granted after the Independent National Electoral Commission issued Certificate of Return to OGAH as Governor of Abia State.
The development was confirmed by the National Commissioner representing the South-East in the electoral commission, Ambassador NWURUKU LAWRENCE.
The INEC Commissioner told newsmen on the sideline of a national stakeholder’s forum in Abuja that the commission acted in compliance with last week judgment by a Federal High Court thath nullified the election of Governor IKPEAZU.
Justice OKON ABANG ordered Governor IKPEAZU to vacate office immediately and for INEC to issue Certificate of Return to SAMSON UCHECHUKWU OGAH, who finished second in the PDP primary in 2014.
You will recall that OKEZIE IKPEAZU had issued a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, asserting that he remains in office, adding that his lawyers have been directed to appeal the judgment.
