Youth leaders from the Ogoni oil-bearing communities and the Tai Youth Assembly have lauded the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for his responsive and people-oriented handling of the long-standing demands by the Ogoni people concerning the resumption of oil production in the region.
In a joint statement, Prince Akekue, President of the Tai Youth Assembly, and Dimkpa Kingsley, President of the Youth Leaders from Ogoni Oil Bearing Communities, commended Nuhu Ribadu for his efforts to ensure that the perspectives of all key stakeholders in Ogoniland are considered in the ongoing dialogue.
The statement also extended appreciation to Professor Don Baridam, Chairman of the Ogoni Dialogue Committee, for his dedication to fostering peaceful dialogue and promoting inclusivity among all parties involved.
Looking ahead, the youth leaders urged traditional rulers, youth groups, women, and political representatives to fully support the dialogue process. They emphasized that the resumption of oil production in Ogoniland holds the promise of ushering in a new era of opportunities, economic growth, human development, and shared prosperity for the region.
