Chief OBASANJO is calling for an investigation of the scandal by the anti-graft agencies,

OBANSANJO made the call after a meeting with President MUHAMMADU BUHARI at the State House in Abuja.

Our correspondent, JAMES IGAH reports that Chief OBASANJO also advised President BUHARI to be careful with the federal lawmakers.

OBASANJO said the latest controversy in the House of Representative vindicates his earlier statement that the National Assembly was made up of corrupt individuals.

It was the former Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, ABDULMUMUNI JIBRIN who spilled the beans against the leadership of the House of Representatives.

JIBRIN alleged that ten standing committees inserted constituency projects worth two hundred and eighty-four billion naira into the 2016 budget without the knowledge of their members.

The embattled lawmaker further alleged that he was persuaded by the Speaker, YAKUBU DOGARA, to secretly smuggle twenty billion naira into the budget through Service Wide Vote.

ABDULMUMINI JUBRIN also stated that he made an error of judgment in supporting DOGARA whom he had thought had a better temperament to become the speaker of the house.

ABDULMUMINI JUBRIN is the former Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation.
