NMDPRA Seals 11 Petrol Stations in Port Harcourt, Obio Akpor Over Sharp Practices

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has sealed eleven petrol filling stations across Port Harcourt and Obio Akpor Local Government Areas for engaging in sharp practices, including under-dispensing, faulty pumps, and other regulatory infractions.

The South-South Regional Coordinator of the NMDPRA, Victor Owodiasa, said the enforcement exercise forms part of the Authority’s ongoing “Operation One Litre for One Litre” surveillance initiative.

He explained that the operation is designed to protect consumers and ensure they receive value for money when purchasing petroleum products, warning that any station found dispensing outside the approved measurement bandwidth would face sanctions.

Owodiasa also disclosed that three gas dispensing outlets were sealed for under-dispensing to customers during the operation.
