The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has warned of possible nationwide protests and election boycotts over what it described as confusion and contradictory positions by the Senate on proposed amendments to the Electoral Act.
The labour union specifically raised concerns about the lack of clarity regarding the electronic transmission of election results.
According to the NLC, the Senate’s failure to clearly state whether electronic transmission of results would be mandatory is undermining public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral process.
