Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, CHIBUIKE AMAECHI has been appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, UNITAR.The appointment by United Nations Secretary General, BAN KI MOON is for a period of three years, beginning from January this year to December, 2018.The confirmation of AMAECHI’s appointment was announced by the Director of Decentralized Corporation UNITAR, ALEX MEJIA, who was in Abuja to present the appointment letter to the minister.MEJIA said the immediate-past governor of Rivers State is expected to make useful contributions to the development of UNITAR and is empowered to guide UNITAR and its entire works in Nigeria.UNITAR is an autonomous Institute established within the framework of the United Nations for the purpose of enhancing the effectiveness of government in achieving major objectives of the United Nations.
