Part of the areas penciled for the anticipated Boko Haram attacks include Lagos, Kano, Sokoto, Kebbi, Bauchi, Katsina, Imo, Yobe and Borno States as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
But the Acting Director of Public Relations of the Nigerian Army, Colonel SANI USMAN, told reporters that the warning about impending attack did not originate from the authorities of the Nigerian Army.
The rumours had been linked to the embattled leader, ABUBAKAR SHEKAU in a purported audio recording soon after the so-called Islamic State group announced that he had been replaced with a new leader for its Nigerian affiliate.
