In a statement by its Special Assistant on Media, Thomas Peretu, the Amnesty International described the report as false, fraudulent and a product of mischief makers who are bent on tarnishing the image of the Interim Administrator of the PAP, Retired Major-General Barry Ndiomu.
It explained that every government department is required to operate in consonance with federal government regulations, that licensed government auctioneers advertise unneeded assets
The statement also noted that the disposal of such assets will be organised transparently.
It however expressed disappointment over recent attacks on Retired General Ndiomu, whom it said had persuaded the Federal Government to rescind its decision and allow the amnesty program to continue.
Peretu assured that the Interim Administrator would continue to work with stakeholders in the Niger Delta to sustain peace and promote development in the region.
