The latest development is a follow-up to an undertaking signed by leaders of armed groups in ONELGA with officials of the Rivers State Government on 26th of June.
DON WANEY made his position known while briefing newsmen at his hometown of Aligwu community in ONELGA.
He called on other armed groups to embrace the amnesty programme of the Rivers State Government.
DON WANEY also called for a halt to the destruction of oil installations, particularly within Orashi region of Rivers State.
However; he challenged the state government to show sincerity in the amnesty offer, otherwise, he warned that the programme may not yield the desired result.
Correspondent LEVI ISU reports that DON WANEY frowned at being linked to kidnapping and other criminal activities, stressing that he was not a criminal but a freedom fighter.
