Mile 3 Market crisis: Rivers House of Assembly wades in.

The state legislature resolved to set up an ad-hoc committee to mediate in the crisis between some of the aspirants and the authorities of the Port Harcourt City Local Government council.

The Committee is headed by MICHAEL CHINDA, who is mandated to summon members of the outgoing executive of the traders association.

The Obio-Akpor lawmaker is to work with VICTORIA NYECHE of the APC, as well as ABINYE PEPPLE, TENENARI WELLINGTON and VICTOR IHUNWO as members of the ad hoc committee.

The State Assembly took the decision after the member representing PHALGA Constituency Two, VICTOR IHUNWO, drew its attention to the crisis at the market, through a petition.

The Speaker, IKUNYI OWAJI-IBANI charged the ad- hoc committee to stop the planned election at the Mile Three Market to avoid a breakdown of order in the area.

The Speaker thereafter announced the adjournment of plenary by the State House of Assembly until 6th of April.
