State Secretary of the union, GOERGE KAISERYE said some of the demands are already being addressed, including the upgrade of primary healthcare workers.
He said the union is also liaising with the Local Government Service Commission to conduct promotion exams for senior health workers at the local government level.
KAISERYE said those were part of the outcome of the meeting between the leadership of the union and officials of the Rivers State government.
He also said REUBEN WECHIONWU has been removed as Chairman of the union following his appointment as a lecturer in the Rivers State College of Health Sciences.
He said the Union is not in support of the planned strike as announced by REUBEN WECHIONWU.
Meanwhile; DAVID WALSON now claims to be the Acting Chairman of the Medical and Health Sector Union of the Primary Healthcare Workers in Rivers State.
WALSON said the Union cannot be negotiating with the government and issuing threats at the same time.
Our correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA reports that the REUBEN WECHIONWU is yet to react to the latest development within the Medical and Health Sector Union of the Primary Healthcare Workers.
It is suspected that his alignment with the State NLC Chairman BEATRICE ITUBO could be responsible for his being sidelined.
