Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has declared that Nigeria’s primary objective at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) is to successfully defend its continental title and secure qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Madugu said the team remains determined to retain the championship despite the heightened expectations that come with being defending champions.
He acknowledged that the tournament would be highly competitive but expressed confidence in the Super Falcons’ ability to rise to the challenge and achieve both objectives.
Nigeria, Africa’s most successful women’s national team, will be aiming to win a record-extending 11th WAFCON title when the competition begins.
