MARCRON is visiting French troops based in Mali after speaking on the telephone with two French soldiers who were wounded in that country.
France has a three-thousand-strong force fighting against Islamist militants in five countries in the Sahel, including Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mauritania.
