Lagos Warned Over Rising Population Pressure

The Lagos State Government has raised concerns over the growing pressure that rapid population increase is placing on infrastructure and urban planning in the state. A state commissioner warned that the continued influx of people into Lagos is stretching housing, transportation, and public services beyond capacity.

The commissioner noted that the government is reviewing planning policies to better manage informal settlements and reduce environmental risks. He stressed the need for coordinated urban development and collaboration with neighbouring states to ease the population burden on Lagos.
