KENYA: Chief Justice vows to nullify Presidential Elections

Justice DAVID MARAGA made the vow in a statement in which he observed increasing threats against Kenya’s judiciary after the Supreme Court ruling.
Justice MARAGA accused supporters of President UHURU KENYATTA of staging what he called savage demonstrations to intimidate the judiciary.
The reaction of the Chief Justice comes as riot police fired tear gas at supporters of President KENYATTA outside the Supreme Court.
The court ordered rerun presidential election has been scheduled for 17th October, but the date has been rejected by the opposition coalition led by RAILA ODINGA and the a French IT firm responsible for the supply of the electronic voting system has also expressed doubt about the date.
