Judith Amaechi, wife of former Rivers State governor Chibuike Amaechi, has dismissed as absurd and baseless the claim by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, that she received ₦4 billion monthly from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for women empowerment and training programmes.
In a statement released by her spokesperson, Dike Bekwele, Mrs. Amaechi also rejected Wike’s assertion that she has been indicted in an ongoing corruption probe involving the NDDC. She challenged the minister to publish the forensic audit report where she or her organisation, the Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI), was allegedly indicted.
Mrs. Amaechi described the allegations as political blackmail aimed at tarnishing her image and scoring cheap political points.
It will be recalled that Nyesom Wike recently vowed to resign from his ministerial position if the NDDC forensic audit report does not indict Judith Amaechi.
