Judgment has been delayed in the trial of three suspects allegedly involved in the kidnap and death of ninety-three-year-old Pa MATTHEW ABU; the father of Rivers State Accountant-General.
A State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt was billed give judgment today but that has been shifted to the 30th of September.
SIMEON NDUKA, CYPRAIN BENNET and CHIGBA ABU who is a member of the deceased family, were arrested in 2008 and the trial has been ongoing over the last seven years.
The presiding judge, Justice E.N THOMPSON delayed his judgment to enable counsel to the parties to present their written addresses.
The State Director of Public Prosecution, IBIKERE OTORIMIU spoke with correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA on the trial.
On his part, counsel to the first and second accused persons, AGENT IHUAMADU said his clients are not the real perpetrators of the crime.
Pa MATTHEW ABU was kidnapped at Ihuoma in Ahaoda-East Local government Area of Rivers state while his body was dumped around Obiri-Ikwerre axis of the East West road in Port Harcourt.
