The media assistant to INEC Chairman, ROTIMI OYEKANMI told newsmen in Abuja that the commission had consistently warned against acts of violence that could undermine the conduct of elections in Rivers state.
He said comments by certain politicians and the subsequent attack on an INEC facility in Khana Local government area of the state were pointers that the politicians were spoiling for war.
OYEKANMI said security operatives have always endeavoured to maintain peace in Rivers state, just as he appealed to politicians in to stop inciting violence.
