Indorama Reaffirms Commitment to Environmental Sustainability Amid Allegations

Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Petrochemicals Ltd has restated its commitment to fully implementing its environmental sustainability and climate change policies, while also prioritizing the health, safety, and well-being of its staff.

The company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Justice Tienabeso Bibiye, made this known in response to allegations of harmful environmental practices raised by the Pilex Centre for Civic Education Initiative on behalf of Josiah Okpabi, a former employee of Obewon Ltd, one of Indorama’s contractors.

Bibiye explained that two cases connected to the allegations have been filed by the Pilex Centre and Okpabi at the National Industrial Court in Port Harcourt. He urged patience, stressing that the legal process should be allowed to run its course.

He assured that Indorama remains a law-abiding corporate citizen of Nigeria and would not comment further on ongoing court matters. Bibiye also called on the public to disregard the allegations, maintaining that the company will continue to uphold best practices in its operations.
