Ikwerre LGA Chairman Thanks FCT Minister Wike for Visit, Pledges Continued Support

The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Charles Wobodo, has expressed gratitude to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for finding time to visit the council.

Wobodo made the remarks in Isiokpo, the headquarters of Ikwerre Local Government, during a stakeholders’ meeting with the FCT Minister. He said the people of Ikwerre were appreciative of the visit and noted that the local government was awaiting the directives of the minister.

Addressing the gathering, Wike said his visit was to appreciate the people of Ikwerre for their support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general election. He described President Tinubu as a leader deserving of continued support and urged the Ikwerre people not to allow themselves to be taken for granted in the political process.

In his remarks, a former Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government and current Chairman of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Samuel Nwanosike, recalled that Ikwerre Local Government took a major political risk in the 2023 elections as directed. He assured the minister that the area would once again deliver politically when called upon.
