HYPREP’s Project Coordinator, Professor Nenibarini Zabbey, made this announcement during a quarterly meeting with regulators and stakeholders in Port Harcourt.
Represented by Professor Damian-Paul Aguiyi, Director of Technical Services, HYPREP, Professor Zabbey noted that many ex-artisanal refiners are open to HYPREP’s proposal to end repollution in Ogoniland.
He also revealed that the project plans to provide livelihood programs for an additional 5,000 skilled Ogonis, building on the existing 5,000 persons already equipped with artisan skills.
Some Stakeholders commended HYPREP’s project progress but emphasized the need for greater inclusion of women, people living with disabilities, and the elderly in their livelihood scheme.
