ASUU, in a statement by its President, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, condemned what it described as a ‘pro-rata’ payment to its members last October and accused the government of an attempt to reduce Nigerian scholars to casual workers.
Professor Osodeke, said the response of the government, portrayed them as daily paid workers.
He also described the action of the Federal Government as unprecedented in the history of university-oriented labor relations.
ASUU had on October 14, 2022, called off its eight-month strike after the National Industrial Court ordered the lecturers to resume work.
