Some respondents who spoke with correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA said the composition of the Boards reflects an adequate representation of the stakeholders in Ogoniland.
A public Affairs Analyst BORVE PAAGO said the boards were also composed along institutional lines which according to him will guarantee the durability of the exercise.
BORVE PAAGO also charged the members of the Board to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the process while stressing the need for adequate funding for the project.
He further stressed the need for the federal government to include the money for the clean-up in the yearly budget, in order to guarantee funding.
Also speaking, Chief MIKE NWIDOBIE who leads a faction of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People commended President MUHAMMADU BUHARI for keeping his promise of implementing the UNEP report and senator MAGNUS ABE for the role he played making the project successful.
He also advised Ogonis in the Boards to see themselves and servants of their people.
In the meantime; the National Youth Council of Ogoni People has expressed reservations over the composition of the Governing Board and the Board of Trustees of the Ogoni Clean-up exercise.
The youths are particularly not happy over the non-inclusion of youths in the two boards.
The President of NYCOP YOUNG MKPA wondered why youths were not carried along in the composition of the two boards when according to him, youths are supposed to be the driving force for the implementation process.
Speaking in an interview with correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA, MKPA said the youth body will officially send a protest letter to both Presidency and the Minster of Environment, stressing that if nothing is done, he will mobilize his members for a peaceful protest.
YOUNG MKPA is the President of NYCOP.
