INEC Chairman, Professor MAHMOOD YAKUBU, gave this indication during the quarterly consultative meeting with the Chairmen and Secretaries of registered political parties.
Addressing delegates in Abuja; Professor YAKUBU said INEC was processing the applications and would take decisions accordingly.
The INEC Chairman assured that the commission remains committee to opening up the democratic space in line with the electoral law and guidelines.
He also disclosed that some members of staff of the commission were found culpable in the subversion of 2015 General Elections through cash inducement.
Professor YAKUBU said such officials are going to face administrative action.
The INEC Chairman also said the commission will not hesitate to interdict officials where prima facie cases have been established against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, including immediate termination of the appointments of such indicted officials.
The Professor said the legal team of the electoral commission working in conjunction with the Police has secured the conviction of forty-two election offenders in Kano state, following the arrests that were made during a by-election in Minjibir Constituency.
He also assured that efforts have been intensified for voter mobilization ahead of the governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states, and urged political parties to do the same to ensure that the polls are successful.
The INEC Chairman also disclosed that the commission was planning to deploy an online technology platform to strengthen electronic voting and also enable voters transfer their registration from one point to another.
