Governor’s Wife, Valerie Fubara, Praises Resilience of Rivers Women at 2025 Women Converge

The wife of the Rivers State Governor, Valerie Fubara, has highlighted the vital role of women as both gatekeepers of their homes and strong anchors of society. She made the remark at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Center during the 2025 Women Converge in Port Harcourt.

Speaking on this year’s theme, Fubara noted that it reflects the real-life pressures confronting women as they navigate rapidly changing social expectations, rising economic demands, and global uncertainties. She described the convergence as a celebration of exceptional women whose courage, resilience, and influence continue to shape homes, communities, and the nation at large.

The governor’s wife also urged women to remain prayerful, focused, and united in order to continue driving positive change.

In her address, Niger Delta activist Ann-Kio Briggs commended the unyielding spirit of Rivers women, saying their efforts over the past eight months have created a strong foundation capable of benefiting future generations.

Correspondent Racheal Ramson reports that keynote speaker, Pastor Eno Jerry Eze, challenged women to take their place in the realm of prayer, citing Judges 4:18 and encouraging them to rise with boldness and spiritual authority.
