Governor NYESOM WIKE of Rivers State has promised continued support for the Nigerian Army.Governor WIKE gave the assurance of his support when he received the General Officer Commanding Eighty-Two Division of the Nigerian Army in Enugu, Major General IBRAHIM ATTAHIRU at the Government House in Port Harcourt.The Governor said the Rivers State Government under his leadership will continue to provide necessary logistics support for the military to carry out its constitutional duty. He stressed that the maintenance of peace and security remains an important component of the development of the state.WIKE said so far, the Army has lived up to expectations, but advised the Army to avoid the influence of politicians as they go about discharging their duties.Major General IBRAHIM ATTAHIRU had told his host that he was in Rivers State for operational reasons, and commended Governor WIKE for his support to the Two Brigade of the Nigerian Army.
