Governor Fubara Leads Rivers Leaders to Independence Day Service

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Sunday led leaders of the state to a special church service marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.

The service, held at the Cathedral of St. Paul in Diobu, Port Harcourt, was attended by his wife, Lady Valerie Fubara, Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Odu, the State Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Amadi, and other prominent leaders. Governor Fubara also read the only lesson of the service.

In his sermon titled “Good News for Nigeria,” the Dean of the Church of Nigeria, Most Reverend Blessing Enyinda, acknowledged the progress made since independence but lamented that the country’s abundant resources have not translated into meaningful development, attributing the setback to leadership failures.
